Today, Administrator Samantha Power met with leadership of humanitarian partners operating in Sudan. During the meeting, Administrator Power recognized the heroic work of nongovernmental organizations in the face of a man-made crisis – including the ongoing conflict and obstruction of assistance by the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces. They discussed the dire humanitarian conditions, with millions at risk of Famine, and the critical need for cross-border and cross-line access for humanitarian assistance. The Administrator emphasized ongoing U.S. diplomatic efforts to end the conflict and increase humanitarian access. She underscored the United States will continue to stand by its humanitarian partners and the people of Sudan.
