Press Release
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and Baobab Tunisie are partnering to support 800 entrepreneurs in the Tunisian tourism sector. The partnership will allow entrepreneurs to access 1 million TND in grants and 7 million TND in loans to help their businesses recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and drive economic growth.
This program will be available exclusively to entrepreneurs operating in the Tunisian tourism sector. It will focus on alternative tourism in disadvantaged regions and activities held by women and young people. “Tourism is a key sector in Tunisia, and we are happy to partner with Baobab Tunisie to bring funding for sustainable tourism to disadvantaged regions. Supporting women and young entrepreneurs in the private sector brings economic growth and diversity to the Tunisian economy,” said USAID/Tunisia Mission Director Scott Dobberstein.
“We are honored to continue this collaboration with USAID by focusing on a vital sector for Tunisia tourism. Through this program, we will spare no effort in our contribution to help microentrepreneurs bounce back and ensure the viability of their activities and their jobs” said Mr. Emmanuel Decamps, CEO Baobab Tunisie.
