USAID Partners with Standard Chartered Bank to Facilitate Private Sector Investment in Green Energy

USAID and Standard Chartered Bank (Vietnam) Limited signed an MOU on April 16 to mobilize private sector investment in advanced energy systems, including rooftop solar, modernization of utilities, and power trading. The new partnership came about through connections forged via USAID/Vietnam’s and SC’s membership in the Women Climate Leaders Network, which is increasing the visibility and amplifying the voices of women leaders contributing to climate action.

The MOU establishes a five-year partnership to advance Vietnam’s goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 and will continue to build upon collaboration through the Women Climate Leaders Network to enhance women’s roles and engagement in green energy.
