USAID supported the Mcare clinic, a clinic which specializes in providing HIV services for the transgender community, to organize a livestream session on Monkeypox, featuring experts from USAID’s STEPS project, the Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh City, and the Mcare clinic. The session targeted key population communities and Mcare clinic clients, offering updates on Monkeypox epidemiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. It also highlighted available health services for Monkeypox, providing specific advice to clients on antiretroviral therapy and pre-exposure prophylaxis regarding adherence and preventive measures for Monkeypox symptoms and co-infection.
Integrating Monkeypox symptom screening and disease management into daily client counseling sessions supports establishing a systematic approach to ensure early detection and management of the disease. [Support for Technical Excellence and Private Sector Sustainability in Vietnam]
