Build On Vietnam is a coding competition, supported by the USAID BUILD-IT project and Amazon Web Services (AWS), that challenges students to address real-life challenges through creative technology solutions. From business proposal ideas to prototype development, 65 student teams competed over two months in a virtual national competition to address challenges in healthcare, smart city, environment, digital learning, and other fields. With the support of AWS and other industry partners, the teams developed innovative prototypes and the shortlisted finalists presented their solutions to a panel of industry judges on September 21. Showcasing creative application of technology and tools, coupled with unique market differentiation, the team Ambition from the Danang University of Science and Technology was crowned champion for their project to improve digital classroom management.
USAID’s university-industry partnerships are inspiring student innovation and entrepreneurship, and grooming a vibrant new workforce that is skilled in applying technology solutions and collaborating with the private sector to power Vietnam’s digital transformation.
