The devastating effects of Typhoon Yagi are still being felt across Northern Vietnam. Although recovery efforts are underway, many members of ethnic minority groups do not speak Vietnamese. To increase the effectiveness of safety and health messaging, USAID partnered with the World Health Organization to develop and broadcast critical health safety messages in five local languages (Vietnamese, Thái, H’Mong, Tày, and Nùng).

Messaging in ethnic languages increases the reach of critical health and safety information to the entire community, improving response and recovery efforts.
