On July 9, YALI RLC West Africa (Dakar) welcomed 99 young people from 24 African countries who have received their training certificates to the ranks of the YALI Alumni. The training has focused on leadership in the YALI three tracks: Business & Entrepreneurship, Public Management, and Civic Engagement.

The participation of young Africans in this leadership program is mainly supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the African Center for Advanced Studies in Management (CESAG), in partnership with the West African Research Center (WARC).

Ornella Tonda, the spokesperson for the recipients, says she is “certain” that they can “make their contribution to the process of change in Africa, together and individually.” She stressed that these weeks of training were marked by “fruitful exchanges, innovative ideas, a spirit of collaboration, among others. Hybrid session 24, through my voice, would like to tell you how grateful they are for this opportunity. We leave with a suitcase full of knowledge, skills and priceless memories,” she added.

Since its opening in 2016, the YALI-Dakar regional leadership center has trained more than 6,000 young leaders aged 18 to 35 from 25 countries, including around 700 young Senegalese.
