ASTANA, KAZAKHSTAN, August 14, 2024 — U.S. Ambassador Daniel Rosenblum and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) today upgraded Kazakhstan’s customs infrastructure by providing advanced computer servers to the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
SRC Chairman Zhandos Duisembiyev accepted the state-of-the-art servers at a ceremony at SRC headquarters. The servers will replace outdated equipment that has hampered performance.
“Adopting innovative technologies will streamline processes, enhance accuracy, improve transparency, and foster a business-friendly environment, attracting more investors and boosting economic growth,” said Ambassador Rosenblum, acknowledging Kazakhstan’s dedication to improving the efficiency and transparency of its customs operations and tax administration.
USAID is supplying advanced servers made by Dell Inc. of the United States to support the SRC’s new customs “Keden” IT system which replaces the outdated “Astana-1” system. The new Keden system will reduce clearance times and enhance data security by leveraging automation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. The new system offers scalability required for future growth.
By ensuring the SRC has access to high-performance, dedicated server infrastructure, USAID supports a more efficient and secure customs environment in Kazakhstan. Ambassador Rosenblum emphasized the shared vision between the United States and Kazakhstan for a transparent and secure trade environment as Kazakhstan secures its position as a leading regional trade hub.
Mr. Duisembiyev said he appreciated the U.S. Government’s support and underscored the new servers’ positive impact on Kazakhstan’s customs operations.
