Today, U.S. Agency for International Development Deputy Administrator Isobel Coleman met with Israel's Minister of Regional Cooperation Issawi Frej. Deputy Administrator Coleman shared her observations from her recent trip to Israel and the West Bank and reinforced USAID’s commitment to advancing and deepening international development cooperation with Israel.

The two discussed prospects for collaboration on development efforts in the region and USAID’s plans for future programming in the West Bank and Gaza. They also touched on the Nita M. Lowey Middle East Partnerships for Peace Act and USAID's broader economic and development assistance for the West Bank and Gaza.

Deputy Administrator Coleman underscored the Agency’s commitment to improving the living conditions and everyday lives of Palestinians, as well as USAID’s commitment to a peaceful two-state solution. She also expressed USAID’s interest in deepening cooperation among the signatories of the Abraham Accords and expanding the circle of peace between Israel and its neighbors.
