Today, Administrator Samantha Power met with a ministerial delegation from the Government of Jordan, including Minister of Finance Mohamad Al-Ississ, Minister of International Cooperation Nasser Shraideh, and Royal Hashemite Court Economic Advisor Zeina Toukan. The Administrator and the delegation affirmed the strong relationship between the United States and Jordan and continued cooperation on supporting economic growth and reforms, women’s participation in the workforce, and needs of the refugee population in Jordan. Administrator Power and the delegation also discussed the critical water scarcity in Jordan and how USAID can support Jordan in achieving its vision of water security.
The United States places a premium on its bilateral relationship with Jordan, and is committed to providing ongoing assistance and working towards long-term stability in Jordan.
