On July 30, USAID, in partnership with Hue provincial government agencies, supported the launch of a club for women with disabilities in Huong Thuy District, Thua Thien, Hue Province. The club will gather women together to benefit from training and discussions related to improving independent living skills, gender equality, economic opportunities, and support for survivors of gender-based violence for women with disabilities. To date, USAID has launched seven similar clubs, supporting over 250 members in Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam Provinces.
The development of community-based groups in Vietnam provides persons with disabilities and their families with economic, social, and cultural networking opportunities, making communities more inclusive.
