Vietnam’s Ministry of Health faced an urgent need for antiretroviral HIV drugs to supply patients during the 2024-2025 period. In response, USAID supported Vietnam’s National Centralized Drug Procurement Center in conducting an open-bid process for suppliers of these crucial drugs. On August 14, the winning bid was announced, securing over 3 million bottles of TLD at a price 33% lower than the previous rate. This agreement, expected to be finalized by late August, significantly reduces costs and ensures a steady nationwide supply of the lifesaving drug.
Through strategic partnerships and technical assistance, USAID is focused on transitioning HIV drug and supply chain models to the Government of Vietnam to ensure sustainable HIV/AIDS control. [Local Health System Sustainability]
