Midwives play a vital role in improving maternal and child survival in Yemen. Meet Rasha, a midwife who opened a home-based clinic with USAID support to serve her community in a remote area with hard-to-reach health services. To reduce the risks associated with childbirth at home, more than 44,000 people in remote areas of the Lahj and Ta’izz governorates can now access 27 USAID-established home-based clinics managed by skilled midwives, ensuring equitable access to healthcare services.
